Introduction
Does knowledge spring solely from the mind of man, or can it come from a source beyond the human intellect? The earliest civilizations believed that gnosis or "knowing" was the foundation of all religion and described knowledge as having descended, "from the heavens". Ancient mystery religions preserved a legend of the origin of human knowledge. When heaven and earth joined together the gods descended to earth. The gods taught the art of civilization: government, agriculture and science, inventions that we in modern times hold to be the most human. The beings that came down to earth possessed the knowledge of the universe: the whole continuum of what can be known.
Ancient historians chronicled the rule of intelligent pre-humans on earth for millions of years. They record that the teachers of men lived not only on earth but also on other planets long before any human existed. The gods lived from the formation of the solar system and traveled between worlds. Their civilization was unparalleled, their edifices and cities were magnificent. Then, at some point in the dim past the realm of the gods was destroyed by a horrific cataclysm.
The evidence of this civilization was not completely erased. The greatest remains of the once great and ancient cities of the solar system were frozen in time on a decimated planet in the 4th orbit from the sun...Mars.
Modern space probes, Pioneer, Viking and recently the Mars Odyssey have sent images of Mars back to earth with evidence of what appears to be artificial structures. The images from the Martian region known as Cydonia are the most intriguing. Giant pyramids, a massive human like face and even and the apparent foundations of a city arranged according to a geometric plan lie undisturbed in this region. Modern researchers cite this discovery as proof of the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life.
However pictures can lie, sun angles may create illusions, geologic anomalies unknown on earth may exist on Mars. Proving conclusively that these structures are artificial with satellite imagery may never become a reality. Advocates of the argument for the artificiality of the Cydonian monuments admit the debate will not end until man sets foot on Mars.... but there is an alternative solution.
The gods taught humanity not only the understanding of things but also the story of their history and origin. This story was preserved in earth's megalithic monuments, systems of time and measurement and even letters and words, carried from the distant past to modern times, "hidden in plain sight". In addition, after the destruction of their kingdom the heavenly messengers did not die. Their continued interaction with mankind helped to shape the course of history. This communication intensified during the period of several earth cataclysms. Knowledge lost after each destructive episode was subsequently resurrected with the help of the gods.
The bible is not silent concerning the gods of knowledge. Their symbols are found in Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament. The fruit of the knowledge of good and evil is considered the premier symbol of gnosis according to the mystery schools. This fruit, considered to be the quince by Gnostics is the key to unraveling the secrets of the monuments of Mars: its scientific name is Pyrus Cydonia.
Pyrus is the root for the word pyramid, pyre, pear, Paris, Peru, Persia, and Perseus. The original Hebrew text of the story of the fruit of knowledge calls it a pur. The name used by the Greeks for the planet Mars was Pirois.
Cydonia is the name of the land of Sidon, a name that means, to lie in wait, to strike. It is spelled in Hebrew with a letter that symbolized a snake. Together the words pyrus and Cydonia represent two of the three figures of the first recorded transfer of knowledge of the mystery schools. The 3rd figure is Eve, the isha (Hebrew for wife) of Adam. In Greek Isa has the meaning, (I know) according to Plutarch and is the origin of the feminine deity of knowledge worshipped by members of the mystery schools the world over, Isis. In Egypt Isis' symbol was the five-pointed star, the shape of the greatest monument of Cydonia Mars.
The remaining symbols found in the story of the fall of man and the transfer of secret knowledge can be found both on Cydonia Mars and the earth, the cherub, twins and the altar.
The Cherub was set by God in Eden as guardian of the tree of eternal life. Its face is seen on Cydonia.
The twins of Adam (Hebrew for red) were Cain and Abel. The founders of Rome in legend were Romulus and Remus, the sons of Mars
The altar represents one of the greatest mysteries. It is found in the bible built two ways, as a mound of earth surrounded by water or as rectangular box with horns at its top comers. Cain killed Abel in jealousy when God accepted Abel's sacrifice of blood and rejected his sacrifice of crops. Romulus killed Remus when he mocked the height of the first walls of Rome by leaping over them.
These symbols demonstrate earth's orientation in heaven, its times and seasons and especially the purpose God has designed for man. Mars preserves the evidence of an ancient kingdom hidden from our modern age. The symbols of the mysteries lead back to Mars.
The counterfeit meaning of the symbols of Genesis and Mars declares, "knowledge will make men gods, thus immortal".
The true meaning of the symbols is, "God will make men his immortal sons by knowing them".
Through time and the change of culture the symbols of the mysteries have endured, incorporated into the dogma of alchemy, gnosticism, theurgy, philosophies and religions. They have surfaced in modern society as emblems of trade, war and nationality. Though letters and words are abundant in our society, the illiterate cannot understand them. Only through instruction of their meaning can use them to communicate. The same is true of the symbols of the ancient mystery religions and the monuments of Cydonia. Their true meaning must be established before counterfeit revelation takes hold of the entire earth. . .this is the goal of my book. Cydonia: The Secret Chronicles of Mars.
