Roll Over Monroe

Bolivia is going critical. And when it does, it will take all of South America with it. Bolivia is the Chernobyl of South America. I realize with the US focus on the Middle East, or Russia, or North Korea, or China, when we bother to focus on foreign issues at all, there is precious little room for anything south of Mexico. There is an entire continent below both Mexico, with its open border to the USA, and Central America, with the Chinese controlled Panama Canal. The United States forgets that at its peril. Monroe must be spinning in his grave to see the open inroads being made there.

It is certainly proper on the seventh anniversary of 9-11 to focus on the deadliest threat the US faces; namely, subversion from the South. I am not talking about the unchecked invasion of illegals pouring over our southern border in a tsunami. Nor am I talking about letting the Chinese control the single most important military asset the US has. Nor am I even talking about Venezuela. South America is going to go because Bolivia is going to explode into civil war. And when that civil war goes mainstream, our adventures in Iran, or Iraq, or Georgia, or Afghanistan will fade into insignificance. The reason for that is simple: they are over there; Mexico, Central America and South America are over here. Besides, Iran and the terrorists are already well entrenched in South America.

On a day where we were assured that even though two Russian bombers landed in Venezuela, they didn't carry nuclear weapons, I would say it is time for me to give you a head's up. After all, on August 20th I wrote about Washington Mutual; today they are business front page news. I will promise you one thing here at the Q files: you will not be surprised. You may be annoyed at me, but you will admit I give you a head's up. Whether you duck or not is up to you.

It is best to give you a brief background of Bolivia and its president Morales. Bolivia is another of those South American countries where the natives and the poor get squashed by a greedy, arrogant elite. Nothing new here. What is new is a whole series of "populist" governments have been voted into power in response to the legitimate grievances of the poor. Unfortunately, populism really means communism. I am somewhat amazed that anybody even thinks communism, in any variant, form or strength, is an economic solution for anything, other than destroying a country. Still, I can certainly identify with some peasant voting for Hugo Chavez, or Morales, or any of the other leaders springing up all over South America. If the rich treat the poor badly enough, spread enough social and economic manure upon them, the rich will find themselves with a bumper crop of socialist/communist/populist mushrooms. South America is now in the mushroom phase. And it goes downhill from there.

Morales has not only sought trade and economic agreements with Iran, he just got back last week from a state visit to Tehran. What do you think that means? I will tell you what it means. It means that if, when, or whether we attack Iran, the death squads will strike the US everywhere they can in South America. I don't recall hearing any warning about the deadly threat of terror attacks Americans face all over South America if we attack Iran. It isn't even on the radar, just like East Africa wasn't on the radar, until two embassies were blown up. I will say this plainly so you do not misunderstand me: Iran has deployed terror squads in South America. The Base has already deployed their terror teams there in the lawless region known as the three corners. We have no idea of who, or what, is down there since we are not focused on it. So we will get blind sided again.

The following excerpts are from a news story called "Street fights, Gas Disruptions, Plague Bolivia" dated 9-11-2008. "Anti-government protesters fought supporters of President Evo Morales on Thursday in Bolivia's pro-autonomy east with clubs, machetes and guns and seized more natural gas fields."... "A two week protest against Morale's plan to redo the constitution and redirect gas revenues turned violent this week as demonstrators in the country's energy rich eastern provinces stormed public offices, blocked roads and seized gas fields." ... "We are going to tolerate only so much, Morales told supporters on Thursday."... Morales has "so far hesitated to mobilize the military, fearing major bloodshed."...." In Venezuela, on Thursday, President Hugo Chavez threatened military action if his ally Morales were overthrown. "It would give us a green light to begin whatever actions are necessary to restore the people's power."

The key points being one: Bolivia is on the verge of open civil war; two, Venezuela has openly said it will deploy combat troops to prevent the overthrow of Morales; three, Venezuela just had two Russian nuclear capable bombers land for "training exercises" ; four, Iran and Bolivia are close allies; five, both Venezuela and Bolivia have expelled the US ambassador because they said the US was plotting to overthrow the government. Can I say we may have to recall all those Navy ships we just sent to the Persian Gulf since we will need them in the Caribbean. For a Caribbean fleet we just activated earlier this year for the first time since World War Two. Under the command of an ex Navy seal to boot. We are looking at an open southern flank. We are looking at being completely overwhelmed from the south. The Q files is one of the few places you will be made aware of this deadly danger. The Monroe Doctrine is dead. The United States is naked to our enemies. Forget about Georgia. Worry about Bolivia, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela. I left Cuba off the list since Hurricanes Gustav and Ike have set them back a decade. Take heed..
