UABC Professor Murdered 2007-OCT-06
In another tragic incident, the delay of professor of the UABC Science Faculty to the airport, where he was to take a flight to Russia, caused worry among his colleagues.
The remains of Mario Alberto Vargas Olvera, 52, were found in the living room of his house, located in the Pórticos del Mar area.
Until last night there was no official explanation. It was said that the professor's body suffered severe blows to the head, body and face.
This same day, the academic was to leave for Russia to participate in a Congress.
Sources mention that the motive of the murder was not burglary, since nothing was missing form his house and valuables were found at plain view.
Comment from Alexander: I wonder what Congress in Russia wa so important to have him killed? /still need to check what Science or Biology Congresses were being held in Russia in during the first 2 weeks of October 2007.
