Plan of Action After Listening to Celestine Bishop

September 7, 2007

Steve,

I listen to you every night and I have to say tonights episode w/ Celestine Bishop was very scarey and disturbing. I have taken certain precautions that I want to relay to you (in the event when November rolls around and people are dying from some infectious disease) that you can report to your audiance ASAP, ie please read on the air, so perhaps they too, can be prepared and not scared.

1) I have installed on my furnace a "UV aire" system which uses an 18" UV light bulb that hospitals use to kill virues and bacteria in their ventilation systems. The bulb must be replaced every year to be effective even though it does not burn out. The unit itself can be bought for under $200 if you install it yourself. My other defenses against contagious deseases are

2) gas masks for each member of my family w/ two spare filters per mask, and the use of a:

3) HEPA filter for the furnace which filters out bacteria out of the air which I bought at home depot, the 16"x25"x1" sized one which is 99.975% effective for bacteria 5 microns and bigger. This filter is good for a year and to clean it all you do is vacuum it.

The way my heating/cooling system works to kill pathogens/viruses is by, air in the cold duct return is combined with fresh air (brought in via what is called an air make up system, which also can be installed relatively cheaply) and this combination of outside air and cold air return is brought through the the HEPA filter (instead of a normal furnace filter), which filters out most bacteria 5 microns and bigger, air is then air conditioned/heated or not, and then air comes out the top where the 18" UV aire bulb sits and emits UV light which kills most pathigens and viruses that made it through the HEPA filter, just like the hospital heating/cooling systems do. I have an extremely efficient furnace that uses 12 volt blowers which I have on all the time (not expensive on electricity) so my air in my home is fresh and filtered/sanitized. I hope you share this info, thanks again and keep up the good work. My best to hawk.

Respectfully,

Dennis from MI
