Hey Steve!
I'm finally back with power after 4 days without. This year (2006) I have been without power 20 days due to windstorms and snowstorms. I THANK GOD for the wisdom of preparing!! My girls and I did really well except for getting a little antsy when we knew we could after the last snowstorm that practically shut down Port Angles for a week.
In the past 30 days, we've been without power 3 times, totally 10 days in all. It seems as though we hardly have time to restock what we used when we were hit with another. I have enough to get me through for awhile but it's good to keep the level high.
I soooo understand your frustration with people! I have talked and talked to my friends about preparing for "whatever" and one friend started half-heartedly to take me seriously. After this I think she is really convinced. When we had the snowstorm 2 weeks ago, they were in a bit of a pickle...not much of anything to cook on (very small woodstove). Her car got stuck at church and she left it with all the groceries in it. Then they couldn't get to the car to dig it out to get the stuff! She ended up feeding the dogs the stew I taught her to can this past summer.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Steve, for putting up with idiots to keep on doing your show!!!! If just ONE person would finally get a clue, it would be worth it. We pray for your and yours...Thanking God that He gave you a voice, and for your stamina and safety.
Here's an article from the Seattle PI. I really fear the next disaster...not surviving it but surviving the aftermath!!!!
God's blessing upon you!!!
